HELLO & WELCOME
I’m Danna. Born and raised in Alberta. Currently living in Calgary.
Primarily a hand-builder, I typically I make my pieces out of slabs of clay. I then cut and shape the clay into the form I want to create. I do also use coil building and pinch methods, and most recently I have been creating Kurinuki, which is a traditional Japanese technique of carving a vessel, from a solid block of clay.
While I do also throw on the wheel, I tend to lean more towards the more irregular, less perfect look of handbuilt pieces in my personal work. No two items will ever be identical.
I currently work out of a studio at home.
